Default new BMC cold air intake

well... it certainly not "new" but at least new to the forum ( i think... hope it's not repost)
it's an italian company who makes intake and filters for F1 cars. i'm surprise that they make intake for our car. the intake is made out of carbon fiber with alloy air duct. looks pretty interesting to me i've seen them on german cars but haven't seen on japanese cars yet. i think they're really good quality with proven dyno test. what do you guys think?
here's their website: www.bmcairfilters.com

They said to be used on a track only and not for street use, am I missing something here?

I posted about this before in under the hood. Turns out its not as good as the hype and pretty expensive.

It works off of the same venturi principle as the PRM. IMO, the small apature= suffocation. Good sound... horrible performance.

It look like PRM or Comptech but it doesn't look as good. I think the best power is from a cold air or a snorkel. But I prefer not to hydrolock my car.

i've had comptech before with air duct connected to the box. however, i didn't like the fact that it rubs against the hood and sometimes water goes down through the hole on the cover. performance wise i could feel very noticeable gain in mid range especially with exhaust combined.
back to the topic, it seems the bmc intake has pretty good gain in mid range too! wonder if anyone have installed the intake or have seen it in person? personally i think it looks better than PRM intake and it's made by a very reputable company.

Well, I am pretty sure no one has one installed. Like I said, I posted a question about it in UTH and the responses were not kind. Again, like the PRM, it works on the venturi principle i.e. creating a vortex to suck air in at a fater rate. Did you see the price?
