Uh, I would have tried to respond to your reasonable questions, but am afraid that after that comment, I will have to consider the philosophical ramifications of my own circumstance, being 45, having worked my a$$ off for 25 years to finally be able to marginally afford an S2000, juxtaposed to your, um, your circumstance.

A serious case of cognitive dissonance...

Jason, you might consider finishing at least the sixth grade before even considering getting an S2k. I f you can master a modicum of language and writing skills, you might eventually get into a good college, obtain a degree, get a good job and be able to afford an S2000 on your own. Good luck, little buddy!

My original reply to your post was not meant to indicate any disrespect or infer that I was "offended". I was truly struck by my own mental disconnect that just wouldn't make sense of a teen boy getting $22,000 from mom for an S2000.

There will likely be some reaction to a teen getting $22,000 as a birthday gift for a car that takes many adults many years of hard work and sweat to get.

This is not slam on you, but you must understand the normal human reaction to such a circumstance.

I understand that its human reaction to realize a "kid" is getting a brand new s2000 which costs so much. But just in his defense, i'm only 17. I'be been driving around a 91' Mazda MPV the past year and i'm preparing to buy the 02' s2000. Although it is a extremely expensive vehicle for a "kid" its just the environment we were raise in. He came to this forum to ask questions about the s2k not be critizied about i. If hes gonna pay for it, thats good for him, if not, he's lucky to have a mom like that. and no my parents are not paying for my s2k, plus i pay for 1/2 the families insurance.

Instead of negativity, let's call this "constructive criticism" - that "blob" of text was very difficult to read. It would be easier to read and respond if it was broken into logical paragraphs. Hey, I'll be the first to slam the "grammar" police, but this was seriously hard to read (similar to reading a message typed in all caps).
