Hey everyone... I just wanted to know... I want to get an S2000 sometime in June...

-Does that mean I should go and put myself on a waiting list a month early? Or should I not bother?...
-Would I be able to get it as MSRP?
-How much do they require as a deposit to get an S2000 on order?...
-Is it tuff to get the color combo you want... and is the blue s2000 coming out?

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks guys!

The answer to most of your questions is it depends on the dealer. You should check your local ones first and see if they are selling for MSRP. If they are, find out if they have any in stock or a waiting list. If not, figure out how far you are willing to go to get one.

Blue is supposed to come out next year but since it will be the new color, I'll bet it will be tough to get. If you want a yellow one right now though, it seems as if they are easier to get since it appeals to a smaller group of people than the other colors. Don't let a dealer jerk you around on a yellow one. Mine sat at the dealer for almost four months here in Austin and I know there is one for MSRP in San Antonio.

Good luck,

Kirk

Hey,
1. I would look around pretty soon. S2k's will probably come out again next year but if not, production of 01's stop in June I believe.
2. Depending where you go you can definitely find one for MSRP. Dealers are selling anywhere from MSRP to $10K over. Just call around and you'll find one.
3. From what I hear most people have to put down a grand. However, I didn't have to put anything down. Probably because I'm freinds with the salesman.
4. Color combo SHOULD be fairly easy to find but Captain was right about certain colors. Rumors have it that Blue will be out next year. This of course, is assuming there will be a next year. I'm almost positive there will be but it's not definite.

Good luck!

Valley Motor Honda in Sheridan, Wyoming will have a white/red at MSRP (or less?) in May or June. Call Myrna at 307-672-3492.

If you know you're definitely going to buy an S2K don't wait until June. You'll have a much better chance of getting one at MSRP while the weather is still cold in most places.
I had decided last summer that I was going to be buying one and at that time my local dealers were getting between 4K and 7K over sticker. I then decided to put it off until January to get mine and was able to land one at MSRP. Good Luck!

Depends on where you live. If you are in California, stand at the end of the line, please, and expect some extra cash expenses.
If you are in the Cold North, you'll be able to find it at MSRP. Of course, you can do as lot of us. Get it from a dealer who sells it at MSRP and drive it back home. Here in Kentucky, they wanted $1,800 over MSRP with a waiting list of at least 2-3 months, even more for a red one. I got mine the same week in Michigan. Just had to drive 300 miles back home. BTW, my car is 4 weeks old tomorrow.
The warmer it gets, the tougher it'll be to get it, though.
Good luck in your purchase. You won't regret it.

I live in NJ... Is it hard here to get it at MSRP?

Is it possible for me to order one now so that coming in June when my current lease is up... then I get the car?

Thanks for the previous responses!

I just got a call from Herson's Honda in Rockville, Md. They just received a silver/black with a trunk spoiler this morning. They wanted to know if I would be interested in it instead of silver/red I'm waiting for. I was very tempted to take that color now. But I stuck to my orginal plan and told them I would wait for silver/red. If anyone is interested, give them a call. 301-279-8600. Ask for Karim (sp?) BTW, they do MSRP.

JVC,

There was a thread regarding Friendly Honda in Poughkeepsie, NY which sells at MSRP.

http://www.s2000online.com/forums/showthre...p?threadid=8228

I bought mine at Planet Honda in Union for MSRP.
