umm just so you guys know, Daisuke is an amazing driver. Currently the Driver of the ARTA NSX (autobacs racing team aguri) and the SuperGT 07 GT500 class champion. I also believe he is the track record holder at Suzuka circuit.

this is strictly stock vs stock so let keep it that way and don't talk about adding in spoiler, top up or whatever etc. It not the driver, can't we all watch the video and admit how stable the civic was. That thing was solid and firm to the ground unlike the s2000 swerving it back end all around. I have always though the s2k weakness is not it power, but the tendency to oversteer so easily. Let not get arrogant and say it the driver, in american term that would be = to jimmy johnson vs jeff gordon.

It's inevitable that the S2000 would one day be "caught up" by other cars, even a FWD car with less power like the CTR. Advanced technology and engineering designs are bound to bring cars to a new level. It would be only reasonable to assume that Honda would take what it has learned from the S2000 and apply them to the newer cars. Honda has made quite a lot of progress in various components like braking system, etc. -- and in particular, the chassis. I'm sure Honda refined those advancements to make the CTR a better car ...
Oh wait, I just bought an S a few weeks ago! What was I thinking!?! I had an CTR right next to it that I could have bought!!!!! I feel like an idiot now

Given these cars are virtually equally speced with the power/tq/weight advantage to the S, and given that these two drivers "should" be equally competent, is this proof that FWD cars can be driven faster than an equivalent RWD?
I don't buy the 8 yr old cry because though it is old, the specs of the S are all still relevant compared to the CTR: in wheel double wishbone, 50/50 weight, RWD (???). these stats are not old, not is the way they are deployed in the S.
So is FWD>RWD for speed around a circuit?
