Trapped here in the frigid weather of the Northeast my thoughts naturally turn to the warmer days the coming year will bring and the opportunities for top down driving and meeting fellow S2000 owners.
With those thoughts in mind, I'm wondering if there's any interest among members of S2000.Online.com and S2Ki.com to hold a regional meet this coming Memorial Day, Monday, May 28, at Lime Rock Park, Lakeville, Connecticut.
Lime Rock Park is situated in Northwestern Connecticut on the border of NY and MA and Memorial Day is THE big race day of the year at LRP.

If there's sufficient interest we can start planning out details for the meet.
Interested?

Oh yeah! Coincidentally, I had just been reading a section of "National Geographic's Guide to America's Hidden Places" that focuses on the region "Along the Housatonic". It's described as a "hilly, lake-dotted northwestern corner of Connecticut" where "narrow backroads weave past dark lakes and fast-running rivers and into quiet villages". In other words, definitely some very "Stookly" roads.
The chapter mentions several points of interest, including Lime Roak Park, described as "home to the famous Skip Barber Racing and Driving School". I had put it on my list of places to visit this coming season, so, even though it's a long one-day or a more liesurely one-and-a-half day backroad trip to get there from here in Ottawa, if I can get away from the office, I'll be there, Mr. Driver.
(I don't live in New England -- well, not physically at least. Hope you won't hold that agin me?)

Pinky: I don't think there is any chance of running our cars in this event. However, if you are interested, some of the NY/NJ/MA owners attended a Pocono drivers' class this past year and I am planning to sign-up for that. Tim S2K is also interested.
RoadSurfer: It would be nice if you and a few other Canadian brother and sisters could make it to Lime Rock. Maybe we could plan on doing the Mystic Seaport ride with you.

No chance of track time at LRP on that day. They are holding some big purse events backed by major sponsors that are going to be broadcast nationally on Speedvision.
However, we could carve out a place on the infield to meet, socialize and have lunch, then have a nice spirited drive after the races along the beautifully wooded, twisty and hilly backroads up there (you're in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains) and we could cap the day off by meeting for dinner at a local restaurant.
This is how I envisioned the day but I'm certainly open to suggestions.
