Thumbs up new exhaust

I know there has been many threads about after market exhausts on this forum so I apologize if this one was mentioned as I didnt see anything on it in my search. Im looking at the Tanabe Medallion Touring exhaust for my 06 s2k. Anyone either have one or know if it is any good? I know not to expect much a power gain or anything like that but was wondering if it was a) lighter then the stock pipes and b) sound good .I have been researching on line and have seen some positive things about it but I always like comeing to you guys and asking. You always have great insight. Any help on this would be much appreciated.

thanks

No aftermarket exhausts currently on the market fit MY06 S2000s, they changed the shape of the transmission tunnel. Modifications need to be done for them to fit without rubbing. Tanabes in general sound good (IMO) but they do have some drone. In the middle for loudness. I'm not sure who has them in stock. Medallion Touring and Concept G are new.

The Invidia is light weight and loud. The Invidia is about 30 pounds lighter than the stock exhaust. Has plenty of drone to go along with the loudness too. However, as exhausts go, it does sound good.

Thanks . Redchili thansk for the insight do you know of someone who has one ? As a side question , is it ok to get lets say the invidia exhaust and then down the road upgrade my headers to either a comptech or toda header etc ? ? ? Is it important to keep them the same i.e comptech exhaust and comptech header? I am interested in doing headers at some point so I figured id ask.

try asking AJ-Racing or randdmotorsports.com if they got any of the T1R exhausts fitted for the 06'... thru personal experience, T1R Sparrow is worth the bang, sound, and weight for the buck

I have an email into AJ-Racing about the T1R Sparrow but have not heard back yet. Rumor has it that Comtech will have theirs in two months but I won't hold my breath. The T1R Sparrow has less drone compared to the Invidia and is quieter. It is not critical to stay the same brand. Comptech or Toda won't have any fitment problems. The majority of headers out their will fit the MY2006 now including Toda and Comptech. You will get a little horsepower gain mostly in the middle. However, the sound will be an improvement IMO.

AP12001 I put in a request form for the T1R Sparrow exhaust at randmotorsports.com ill see what they come back with. How much do these usually run ?

RedChili as far as the headers go ive heard a lot about 4-2-1 and 4-1 style headers any suggestions for one you may go with over another ?
