new exhaust
The 4-2-1, traditionally called a TRi-Y header, is for mid-range and top end power, while the 4 into 1 setup is for top end mainly. This is due to the scavenging effect of the collector used in a 4-1 setup. But, to scavenge well, it requires high exhaust velocities, so you need high rpms to see its benefits. I like Rick's and Comptech's but a Toda and a reflash shows some promise.
Ok Redchili last question (at least for right now) If you were in my shoes what would you do. Im just starting my mod process so im looking to start with a exhuast and intake and then headers. I have heard about the toda header and reflash also i think kingmotorsports.com has an updated ecu to go along with it and it is said to have some decent gains . Putting that aside for a moment what exhaust and intake combo would you go with first?
I appreciate you letting me pick your guys brains here much appreciated and great stuff

Guys I got a response from R&D Motorsports about the T1R Sparrow here it is
I asked if that exhaust would fit MY06 and they replied with:
"Yes, if you change exh bushings, it fits. I have on special WITH test
pipe
for $985 shipped, while supplies last."
What do you guys think ? Is changing the bushings difficult or expensive ? Does it sound good ive never heard that exhaust before but it looks absolutely great. Is it light ? Let me know...

Exhaust bushings cost about $10.00 and not expensive or difficult to do. T1 Sparrow is a good exhaust. It is not the loudest or the one with the most drone. I am waiting for Supersprint or Comptech. Until then I'll just put a couple of magnaflows on. I'm curious on how changing the hangers will allow the T1R exhaust to fit MY2006 exhaust channel.
sid33, first of all please call it a header, not headers. There is only one header on an inline engine, V engines have headers. Sorry, it's a pet peeve.
I have heard that the T1R Sparrow is a fantastic exhaust, I would definately go with it over an Invidia. Invidia's exhaust sounds good at first, but deteriorates over time into a loud droning mess....
As for matching brands (say a header with an exhaust) it depends on what you want to do with your car, since different brands have different ideas about how to make the S2000 perform at its best. For instance a J's header will show the best top-end gains, but you may gain more midrange power from a Toda or Mugen header. If you run a dual exhaust then I can only assume that you do not care about top end horsepower, so buying 4-1 header designed to produce top end power may not suit your needs as well as a 4-2-1 designed for midrange power.

Sorry for adding the "s" in there i stand correct.
Thats a good piece of info that you guys have given me. I def think the T1R sparrow looks like the one im going to go with as for a header I guess it would make sense to go with something more for the mid-range if I go witha dual exhaust.
As far as single exhaust goes I know it is suppose to net you the best hp gains but how much better is it. Is it safe to say it will just help with your top end power ? How much more performance could you expect from the single exhaust over a dual usually? I understand that it would be a straighter pipe and less weight being part of that.
I hope im not annoying anyone with these questions I just want to do things right thats all and i look to you guys since you have alreayd done it.

I think the Sparrow is supposed to give you like 5hp, and for reference T1R's 70mm is supposed to give you liek 15hp, plus like you said it weighs less. Their single exhaust is one of the best for performance (along with the other 70mm exhausts) -- if you go with a 60mm exhaust you will gain about 7-10hp. So not a huge difference ... the guy with the highest-horsepower NA S2000 in the country is running a dual exhaust, so it can't hinder performance that much.
