you want to put a certain amount of miles on it before hitting vtec and doing the first oil change. I think its 7500 miles, You just want to be easy on a brand new car and let everything get settled before you ream it out. Other members who have recently bought a brand new one can give you a more exact # of miles they have put on it before any "spirited" driving. Just be careful about the rear end since it is your first sports car, many on this board can vouch that this car can get nasty quick if not respected.

7500 miles is definitely excessive before VTECing - probably something more like 600 miles..

In terms of the first oil change just follow what the service book says that comes with the car.

Congratulations by the way!
