As a sports car lover, I fail to see how bragging about potentially harming some unsuspecting buyer's engine is necessary or enjoyable.

I asked the salesman, and he said I would be the third to drive it...
I have been around engines most of my life, and in my humble opinion I believe that one should break in their engine as they plan on driving it. If V-Tec'ing it a few times could really harm this engine I wouldn't even consider this car for my garage, and Honda wouldn't have produced it. I also know some folks that know a lot more about this engine (and Honda) than me, or most anyone here; they don't see any problem with it. The factory does it, and they test a sampled car during production for quite some time. Do you think they keep it under 6000? Nope.
I have experience with engines that rev over 10,500 rpm.... Hop in after a rebuild, do a few laps check out the oil then let-her rip. In fact we have found that an easy break in sometimes limits the ultimate power peak of the engine... If there is something wrong with the engine build it will fail regardless. Feel free to disagree. I am always open for enlightenment.
As for "bragging, and potentially harming some unsuspecting buyer"... Please... I am just sharing a story. I will gladly slither away if I am causing an issue; no thread off my back.
Yes, there are at least two Honda dealers on US 1 in NJ that have yellows... Because of the reaction I will not say which one. If you are going to pay the price for this car, from a dealer on 1... I will tell you if it was the car that was driven by at least four people. If I wanted the color I would have bought it at sticker... driven or not driven.
This is a 33,000-dollar car folks (many trucks cost more); it is not a Ferrari... If it is not sold to you before it gets to the dealer expect it to have been driven. Hell, I have test driven a Porsche C2, C4, Viper, and an NSX right of the dealers floor. I guess I have a nice smile.
Oh, Yeah ...Ditto...
