New to Old. What do you think

He could finance the S2000 with a shorter term and come out closer to the overall cost of the Civic. I was mainly pointing out the gross error in his logic when he thought he was "saving money" by paying less monthly on the S2000.
If he had cash to pay off either vehicle, it'd be a pretty good trade.

When it comes down to it... what is a year in an S worth to you? You will lose $ if you get an S now, but if it makes your life more enjoyable (and i assure you it does
), then it may be worth the cost to you. How much do all of us spend on leisure and entertainment each year? Your future S could fall into that category. I know mine does.

I was in the same situation as hondastrtracr a month ago. I purchased a car last year that I hated and was looking around for a replacement. Fell in love with the S2K for various reasons (loved the history behind the vehicle) and wanted one. Also because the current car that I had got into in accident with a curb due to black ice. After it got repaired, I started hearing the strangest noise on the wheel that was originally damaged. Sounded like a bad tie rod, but it would go away and come back. I never did figure out what was the problem.
However I was upside down in my loan, big time. So I had to put down alot of money in order for it to be where I was just getting a new loan (as if the car that I had never existed).
I'm glad I did get that Mazda6, however, because did I not...I could of been driving an RX-8 automatic which is total fail.
CKIT, where were you 3 years ago when I was in the same situation, jumping from a sentra to the s2000 in the same situation in terms to financing, going from a 3 year loan to a six year loan. Sometimes in retrospect i wish i had kept the sentra and forgone purchasing the s2000. Needless to say, i've derived infinitely more fun from the s2000 than from the sentra. Should i have kept the sentra and forgone the purchase, yes. Do I regret having made the purchase, not in a million years.
Hmmm, from a 08 Civic Si to a 04 S2000.
They are both Hondas. Other than that there's nothing remotely similar between the two cars. I say go for it!!!
A small bumper accident shouldn't have much of an effect on the car unless the frame has been bent. After all, that's what bumpers and bumper skins are for! To cushion the force of oncoming force. A good bodyshop could usually make the repair pretty much seamless even if there is very slight frame damage.
One thing to keep in mind is that even if a car has no history of accidents, that wouldn't assure you that the car was accident free. It could be that the car was repaired by a shop without going the through insurance company. The fact that the dealer is pointing out the damage to you is not such a bad thing, in my opinon.
