Default New rotors, old pads?

My front rotors are warped, so i'm replacing them.

The question is, I have a set of track pads (cobalt GT) and a set of stock street pads, both with plenty of life on them. Can I use them on the new rotors or do I have to replace both sets of pads as well?

As long as they appear to have a flat contact surface using the old pads should be OK.

Your front rotors are probably not warped.

Here's some additional reading since you will probably have the same problem again if you don't understand why you have brake chatter:

Actually, the rule of thumb (except by people who want to sell you brake parts) is that ideally new rotors should be broken in with used pads and new pads should be broken in with used rotors.

Well that should work out perfectly, thanks for the replies.

Slolom: Intersting article from stoptech. But after 4 years of autocrossing anbd a couple track days, I'm due for new rotors anyway.

That site has some good info, but it's definately possible to warp your rotors. My current front left rotor is warped. I can see it by looking at it while the wheel/rotor spins with the car jacked up. Not sure how it happened, probably due to uneven cooling from water or overtightened lugs.
