There's been a lot of past discussion about mounting PPs when the regular S02s are used up.

The consensus has been that it's a good idea as long as you replace all four tires. Most of us have decided to use OEM S02s when replacing the rears only, then changing over to PPs at each corner when the OEM fronts are finished (hopefully after 20K miles).

The Pole Position version of the S-02 is not new in the sense that they are brand new, they are just newer than the version that was put on the S2000, which may have been specifically designed for our car.

The PPs have been on the Tire Rack Web site for at least nine months and several people have already mounted these tires on their car months ago.

Basically what I'm saying is that this is old information but may be useful to newer owners looking to replace their tires.

Thanks for the info on the tires. Looks like a good replancment. I looked at the warantee and noted that you have to supply proof that the tires were rotated every 5K to 6K miles. Interesting on the S2K with fronts and rears being different sizes and the tires being directional. Oh Well! Just another opportunity

I accidentally got the S-02 N3 (non-PP)Porsche OEM rear tires from Tire Rack but kept them anyway after a puncture on the right rear at 3700 miles. At first the car felt generally unstable with the new tires as if the rear end was drifting slightly, but after 5000 miles of driving (8500 miles on OEM fronts) the car feels rock solid. So I don't what the difference is between this tire and the Honda OEM other than the speed rating....
