Is it true that they have stopped making SO2's? I would like to know. If anybody could help that would be great.

I also wonder if Tire Rack will see an increase in orders for S-02 rears. There must be lots of people out there like me who have 5,000+ miles on my rears, have great looking fronts and will not want to mix the front S-02s with something else in the back...

the S02 PP's were replaced by the S03 PP's. the OEM S02's will continue to be made and be offered by Tire Rack.

several people buy S02 PP's, S02 OEM's and S03's from Tire Rack, but you gotta make sure what you are buying before you buy them. The S02 PP's and the S03's are NARROWER than... actually I should say this correctly, the OEM S02's are wider than the typical 225 in the rear, so you want to replace them with a 245 as discussed in prior threads.
