Wow! I just called the local dealer (Gillman Honda - Houston) yesterday afternoon about this. Sure enough there was a brick on the sidewalk under me when the dealer quoted me..

AP2 (2005) S2000 key: $160
AP2 (2005) blank master: $27
AP2 (2005) valet: $16
Cut/Program (1hr labor): $106

Needless to say, I picked up a pair of blanks on fleabay (with just the plain silver honda logo) for $26 shipped. Btw, I managed to get a quote from an online retailer and they have the nice S2000 key for $115.

Hope this helps!

You can buy a blank programmable key for around 20$ on the internet. Then you go in a key shop specializing in car keys (they have the machine) to get it programmed and cut (You must have at least one original). After all that, it shouldn't cost you more than 40$.

That's what I did.

Depends on the dealer. When I locked my only key in the trunk, they cut me a new key for $20 so I could go get the old key out of the trunk. Then I brought them both keys and they programmed the fresh cut one for free.

For those of you that purchased a replacement key on ebay for their S...

Anyone receive a key that has a different letter stamping on it compared to the original? If so, is it still programmable?

I just got one with the letter "R" stamped, while my 2004 S2K key has the letter "F". I don't want to end up taking it to a dealership or locksmith to have it programmed and then finding out only one or the other will work...

Thanks in advance

Will the S2000 logo key blanks work with an AP1? The guys here at the Honda dealership say no but I just want to make sure.
