Well considering how the "next s2000" is a pipe dream I really see no way anyone could "make a decision" and said reports are nothing more than literal speculation. Honda has released nothing that even suggests that they are going to bring the s2000 (or variant) back. Anyway, back to reading Weekly World News...really hope that this Big Foot carcass found in Arkansas can be cloned, latest reports say it can.

The ap1 and ap2 are both the same car with the same frame and same engine type mounted in the same location. They are both front mid engine cars.

Generally when people say mid engine they mean the engine is behind you and between the front and rear axles.
