Default NEW!! S2000 Stereo Controls now work with Sony Stereos!

I am a fellow S2000 owner who has recently developed a new product specifically for the S2000. As a new sponsor of S2Ki.com I am proud to announce that this new product is available at this time exclusively through the S2Ki.com web site.

This NEW product allows your dash mounted stereo controls to be used with your Sony Stereo

It plugs right into the back of your Sony stereo in a plug that Sony designed specifically FOR remote controls!.

While there are some other products that can do something similar, this new dash controls unit is the only product that is made spefically for the S2000 and works by plugging directly into the Sony stereos. All of the other products available use an infra-red 'eye' that must be mounted somewhere externally, and visibly near your stereo.

If you have been wanting to upgrade your stereo, but have been holding off because you thought you would loose your dash controls, or be forced to use an 'unsightly' infra-red solution, you don't have to wait any longer.

More details about this product are available in the following thread:

Thanks!

Isn't the device just a couple op-amps, a few transistors, and some resistors (and maybe a relay)? To me $130 seems a little steep. I've got some circuit diagrams of the stock controls and the Sony controls because I was going to build something like this for myself, but then more I looked into the new Sony products the more I didn't like them so I abandoned my effort.

I just fully read your specs and did notice you mentioned possible firmware upgrades so now I see the device is much more than just discrete components (which better explains the pricing).

STL, thanks for checking it out. You are right, it's much more than just basic components. It's actually a RISC based processor running at nearly 4 Mhz. Its got 256 bytes of RAM, 2K of Flash RAM and 512 bytes of EEPROM. There are a couple of other IC's on it as well as a couple of LEDs and switches.

Oh yeah, there is also more than a thousand lines of assembly language code that makes it work.
