Default New s2k owner soon I Hope!

Well guys I've had my eye on getting an s2k for quite some time now. I currently drive a pretty heavily modded wrx that has been nothing but great for me. Super reliable and a lot of fun to drive. I've found myself slowly losing interest in it though and I've been wanting to test drive an s2k for a while.

Friday night I finally got to drive one. My brother's friend has an 01 with a few basic mods (coilovers, wheels, catback, TP). I've wanted one of these cars so bad and I was relieved to find that the car was not disappointing to me at all. I thought it was great. It had a bit more room than I thought it would considering I'm 6'1" and 200lbs.

I've had my wrx for sale for a little while but haven't been trying all that hard to sell it due to the fact that I didn't know how the s2k was going to be. Well now I know and I can't wait to get in one. It will be a daily and I know people say it'll be quite a change going from a 4dr awd car to this but I don't really need the awd and definitely don't need the extra 2 doors. My birthday is in March and my goal is to be in one by then. I'm hoping to get any hands on an 04 or 05 in white or silverstone.

Just wanted to share my thoughts.

Good choice on the color choice...I don't know about white but there should be an abundance of silverstones since the largest amount of s2k's are black and silver. Good Luck on the purchase.

So you prefer tight, nimble suspension to floaty, body roll? Way to be!

You'll love the car. You'll miss your low/mid range torque but swing the tach past 6K and you won't care.

My 2.0L upgraded turbo front mount setup doesn't really give me much low end anyways. I drove a friends ap1 the other day and honestly felt like it had just as much ability to get up and move at low rpms as my car. Now if I had a 2.5L it would be another story.

good choice on choosing to upgrade. a lot of my friends have wrx's. although i love their cars id rather have mine opposed to theirs. regardless of awd, power, and easy aftermarket gains.

I've loved my wrx and its been a great car to me I just think its time to move on and try something else. My biggest regret with that car is not buying an sti to begin with. If you are going to mod it then I suggest getting the sti because you will spend so much money on a wrx to get it to match sti performance in certain areas.

It seems like a lot of people have wrx's for sale right now so hopefully it doesn't take forever to sell.

What kind of fuel economy does your 'rex get? A friend of mine had an 04 base WRX and he said it was really crappy, like 18 mpg combined!
