Default New S2K and Warranty Question.

Hello,

I just picked up the S2K on 06/16/01. I paid $32,740 for a Red with black. I was thinking of picking up the extended warranty, but I felt I was getting shafted. Where can I find the best price for a Manufacturer Warranty. I also heard that with this warranty there is no questions asked when it comes to problems, no inspections. They will fix any problem. Is this true?

Thanks,
Lenny

You might try www.warrantygold.com. I got a quote from them for a 7yr/100,000 mile for around a $1000.00

Honda's extended warranty seems higher, price-wise. I believe Warrantygold will cover repairs at any authorized dealers of your picking.

Remember, there are several different packages to choose from...some which covers the basic mechanicals and others offering a more comprehensive package. Read the fine print carefully.

Wear items are not covered, such as wiper blades, tires, etc.

I just added the 7 year/100k Honda Care warranty to my car. It seems like it covers a lot and has a lot of good benefits. But, it was pretty pricey at $1300.

My price (I'm sure on price, not certain if I bought in Sept, Oct or Nov 00) may no longer be attainable- the honda guy said prices went up 1/1/01. Here's an old thread on the subject. Maybe some others can post if they got a better dael than Brandos to you, so you might try phoning cdelena's dealer in Dallas:

I lucked out- my price was for the 7/75/0, but they gave me the 7/100/0.

Nice... here's warrantygold.com quote...

2001 S2000 (10 miles on the odo, etc.)

NEW PLATINUM
Term Miles Price
5 Years 75000 $549
5 Years 100000 $679
5 Years 150000 $949
6 Years 60000 $454
6 Years 72000 $549
6 Years 100000 $704
7 Years 70000 $630
7 Years 100000 $730

"Our Platinum Bumper to Bumper plan is the most comprehensive listed extended service contract in the industry. In addition to major mechanical items, it covers the majority of the electronic components in the vehicle. This listed plan includes all standard electric items such as power windows, door locks and all of the other mechanical items. The Platinum plan also includes wear and tear coverage, unlike most typical extended warranties. The list of items covered in the Platinum plan is very extensive. You will not find a more comprehensive listed warranty anywhere."

Something I'd prolly consider!

Remember this: Extended warranties do not have to be purchased at the time you buy your S2K. I'm planning to wait until my factory warranty is nearly over; Then I'll buy.
