new to the s2k world
hey, I'm mostly an evo enthusiast (hence the name) but lately there has been some serious talk of the evo being very watered down when it comes to the states, so I started looking at options for other cars. I then saw the light of the s2000, and joined this board. I have had bouts of rx7 and supra enthusiasm, but I was ultimately drawn away from those cars for one reason or another. I was just gonna ask if I were to buy an s2000 (which probably wont happen, but if mitsubishi pisses me off...) are there any "buyer bewares" that I should be aware of? I know of the rear windshield issue (big fat hairy deal), the weak stock sound system (knowing me the stock system would be in there for all of about 1 hour before I totally replaced it), and a lack of torque (thats honda for you). Is there anything else?
Hmm. The rear window? It's now glass. No problem there. The sound system is ok...it is a lot better for '02 but still not stellar. Lack of torque? Where did this myth come from? The car has plenty of thrust at low revs. Drive one for yourself. You'll be surprised. I don't know what else you might want to look out for. Mine is perfect. There is less storage space than in the Lancer, but storage space isn't what this car is about. It is a pure sports car. No question about it.
