The second prototype is now ready, and we'll be testing it on Sam_S2K's car in a day or so. This version accommodates the key change most of you wanted: we've trimmed off just enough so that it clears the rear window when you raise and lower the screen with the top up. We've had this prototype made in gray tinted acrylic just to see what that looks like in comparison to the clear.

Although the logo in this version is the same size, it will be reduced by about 20 percent in size in the production version. Again, let me remind everybody that I will not sell the windscreen with the logo unless I have Honda's permission.

As soon as we test the fit the new prototype and get some pictures, I'll be posting the group buy info. That should be by the end of the week at the latest.

Group buy on head rests will follow next week. I want this stuff done before my car shows up!

It doesn't looks any better without the logo though.
I don't hink I can convince my wife to switch the stock windscreen without the logo.
There is gotta be a loophole!!!!
Hasn't someone been making hats with the logo on it?
Isn't it just some standard font/size/color?

Good point -- while the 'H' is obviously a logo, the S2000 badging is just a typeface. If you use a different (but similar) typeface, I can't imagine it would be a legal problem. Otherwise it would be a trademark infringement every time somebody mentioned Honda or the S2000 in any written message.

Cool! Looking good. How much height difference is there between the new version and stock? Curriosity.

Sounds like I have something to work for to get for spring time!

I understand the questions about the logo. Please send me a private email for more information.

I have been driving around town with the first prototype for two days now. Here are my findings:

1) Wind is cut down substantually, about 30%-40% over stock. I was driving in 45 degree weather with the top down, the heat on, and no jacket and I was comfortable (also understand that I like cold weather in general).

2) The fit is very good, is really looks natural...if you didn't know it was made by Rick, you would think it was stock.

3) There is a reflection at night. The reflection is of the road in front of you (lit up by your headlights). This reflection is not distracting, but it is there none-the-less. However, it is only noticable when there are no cars behind you. As soon as a cars headlights are behind you, the reflection seems to fade. IMHO, I don't think that this reflection should discorage people from purchasing the final product.

This is all I can think of, but if there are any more specific questions you would like me to address, just let me know.

Looking at the stock windscreen, it almost seems as though it looks too short; the newer version actually might look more "natural".

If the reflection is annoying, you can always fold the screen down.

Rick, you are absolutely correct. The windscreen can be folded down to get rid of the reflection, but to be honest, its not that noticable...just different until you get used to it (which took me about 5 minutes ).

Again, I hope that the fact that there is a reflection does not change any one's decision to buy this accessory, it works great.
