Default Newbie needs your HELP with dealer's abuse!

Hi guys! I am a new proud owner of a MY03 Spa Yellow S2k. Today, when I first picked up my car which has a hardtop, a rear spoiler, and a front under spoiler installed, I found that the front under spoiler has scratches on its bottom. Apparently, the installation technician did not pay attention what-so-ever when he pull out the lot. Immediately, I notified the sales manager for the incident. He examed himself and agreed to have the spoiler repainted. Although they are not major scratches, I just feel that the dealer people should have paid extra attention on others' cars especially a BRAND NEW one. Okay, make the long story short. Do you guys suggest I should insist to have a replacement or I can settle with a repainting arrangement. The sales manager promised the work will be done right and perfect. I am just afraid that the new paint will not be as good as the manufacture one. After all, I sacrafied my beloved 99 M3 coupe for the new baby. I hate to see the paint chipped after several thousand miles. Any comments? BTW, personally I think the mechanics/technicians in Honda of Hayward are very careless. Don't bring your cars to them for services!! But the sales guys are really nice and friendly.

i think you should insist that they replace it with a brand new one. there is no reason for them to damage a new part before they even have the chance to deliver it to the customer. if they won't replace it, then insist that they refund part of the price of the spoiler to you because they are selling you a new part that is not in "new" condition.

I would have to agree with VTEC_Junkie. The question is not wether you will scratch up the spoiler yourself anyways but the question is what did you purchase and what condition is it in when you recieved it.

Any plastic parts such as bumpers for instance, will chip alot easier than the original when re-painted. This was told to me by my auto body man.

If you let them paint it and give it back to you you're letting them get away with damaging your new car and not really taking the proper responsibility for the damage THEY caused.
