I'm reading this and just wondering what happened to the car to require a new engine and clutch before 65k? If it was something you caused, then I have no problem believing that you probably killed the tranny as well. Sorry to sound harsh, just wanting more info.
did u by the car new? i just dont see a S crappin out at 65k without something crazy going on
The car was purchased used with 6000 miles a few years ago. The dealership said low oil was the cuplrit for the engine damage and subsequent replacement. There was nothing wrong with the transmission before that I noticed and I drive the car everyday so I would definately notice.
I have contacted my lawyer and will be working with him. If anyone has any info on the corporate offices of Honda please forward me any info you think may help me. I already called them but would appreciate any experience any of you have in dealing with them.

Firs off sorry about the news, Do what you are doing with the lawyer, but 6k for a tranny man that is retarded you can get a motor with tranny with 40k kilometers on it. Personally I would never ever ever pay that much for a tranny, also there are ton of wrecked S2000's out there bro. I know you are freaked out right now as would I, but the bottom line is that you need to think outside the box a little bit to get your car, which you really like running again and not breaking the bank.
My guess is, you've annoyed them enough that they want to shut you up. They're sick of you bringing it back so, they decided to shut you up by telling you, you need a new tranny.
I'd do what someone else suggested and get a second opinion. You're going to have a hard time convincing a reasonable person that them doing the clutch, broke the transmission. I wouldn't believe it myself. I rather suspect they didn't put the shifter back together correctly. 6K for a tranny's replacement's a reasonable number if you're buying a new one from Honda. A new tranny's something like $3500. You got F'd pretty hard on the engine replacement. $9K's highway robbery.
Your lawyer's probably going to cost you as much as the tranny job. I'd do everything else first before I called in a lawyer. The cheapest possible thing you can do is get a second opinion.

I spent $9000 on the new engine already and that was my entire life savings. I even had to borrow money to pay it off.

That seems like a good possibility. How severe is the symptom? And if it really is low on fliuid, and this is another good possibility with your description. Pay them or someone else to change the fluid before going to the expense of hiring a lawyer.
