"Honda S2000 is offered in 1 model only, the 350Z offers five distinct models"
Nice to know when you pay for the top of the line car, some kid has one that looks just like yours but cost $10,000 less.

Complaining about aluminum vs. iron suspension components? Which material is more reliable when it comes to fatigue strength?

And from what I've read, the S2000 performs better than the track 350Z, despite having smaller tires and wheels.

Cargo capacity, 6.8 cu ft vs. 5.0 cu ft. What? This is about the least amount of cargo capacity I've ever seen for a coupe.

WTF, why are you comparing your coupe to a convertible??? Make your roadster, THEN do your comparision.

It just means that the S2000 comparison is important to Nissan. So far, I like what I read about the 350Z. I had a new ZX in the early 80's. A great car with only one problem - front brakes wore quickly. I'd like to have a 350Z, but I'd not trade my S to get one. At this time I'm a one sports car guy. If I were to get another car, it would be the WRX, that's for sure.

Oh, but I do hate false advertising. It just means that the truth doesn't make them look as good as they'd like to. The car doesn't measure up so they have to lie.

Can you imagine someone who's never seen an S2000 checking out that ad?

I think Nissan screwed up by printing pictures of our beautiful car compared to pics of thiers.

I think the 350 will be a great car, but man...after seeing one in person, you can have the looks.

Here are pix from the one I saw back in July.

Beauty may be in the eye of the beholder, but I will behold the looks of my S over the Z any day.

S2K all the way. The very fact that our car has only one model available, is less practical, and is more challenging to drive is the reason why I bought the car. That's why I will never buy cars like the Z, not because they are bad cars, but because they are not hard-edged enough.

Geez, I can't believe how uptight everyone's getting over this! It's an INTERNAL document, not intended for public consumption. FWIW, they also produced similar docs for the Audi TT & Boxster S. Sure, it's biased in favor of the Z, but that's why it's called "marketing". Some of you are acting like Nissan is personally harming or insulting you!

For any consumers who base their decisions on what a salesperson blabs about, that's their problem. Do your own independent research, do your test drives, and ignore the sales blabber.

Seems to me like the Z is an AWESOME car that stands on its own. They certainly don't need hard sales tactics to move them right now.

There's space in the market for both cars, and I predict Honda will still sell all the S2000's they can make as long as they don't further increase production.

Internal or not, it's an official company document that distributes misinformation throughout the Company's sales force in an effort to increase their market share. Therefore, it's liable for what it says.

Maybe this will inspire Honda to give us a car in 2005 that will crush cars like the 350Z !
