i just picked up my 01 s and it came with a lighter battery. now my radio doesnt work and says code 6. im guessing she needs to be reset but do i have to call a dealership or can i do this myself?

 

Is the radio dead? If not, then if the radio screen ask for a pin then you just need the pin number. Pull out your stock radio and find the serial number. Call your nearest honda dealership and have them pull up the code or you can just take it in and have them do it. As far as code 6, I have no idea what that could mean

 

No need to pull out the radio for the serial number - there's a certain button sequence to push to get the radio to display the number you need to give to the dealer so they can give you the code. I don't remember the buttons but there are several threads here that you can search for.

 

ok, thanks for the replies. im thinking i should rip out my sound system and save a few lbs. i already took out my spare tire and hardware so i guess that should make me 0.01 seconds faster in the 1/4 mile. lol.
