No Torque. How do I launch?

[b]I usually launch at about 6k and slip the clutch. I get moderate wheelspin and according to a gtech, i only get 5.79 as a 0-60 time. I'm hoping that I can do better when it gets warmer. I'm also not sure how accurate the meter is.

Sev, thanks for the advice. One question though. When I'm dropping the clutch, do I literally take my foot off, or let it slip slightly, then dump? I'm still pretty new to this, but I can get a lot of practice out here on the back roads.
Do you have the fastest times with an s2000 so far?

let off completely... no clutch slip"Side Step The Clutch" - meaning have your foot on it, then step to the side, letting the clutch come out instantly... No, feathering, slipping, etc. Just get your foot off the clutch till your ready to go into second
what is the wear/damage risk with this technique? Like with traction control you get to keep the tyres at their friction limit while modulating the torque/throttle. This suggests to me there is an optimum (perfect?) amount of torque to apply at least until the available torque becomes less than the torque the rear wheels will accept with out slipping.
When I get my car (finally next month) I will want to give it a few good accelerative shoves, but being a mechanic
ally kind/conservative type I worry about what i am reading, I'm not into doing unneccessary wear , only that amount which will actually contribute to acceleration

I drop the clutch at 5 grand...and pull constant 13.9's to 14.1's @ 100mph. Everyone down here at the orlando speed world is amazed at how well this car performs at the track. Go show them what hondas are about..

Thanks.
Sev,
When you say, "PLEASE Never EVER SLIP the clutch on an s2000", I assume you mean only when launching, right? Would you still side-step the clutch when shifting through to other gears?
I'm just wondering whether you meant this under "normal" driving conditions as well.
Thanks,

Thanks for your help guys. I'm not used to dumping the clutch at 7000RPMs!!! I used to own Subaru WRX AWD Turbo, plenty of torque at 3000RPMs.
One question. Is the S2G made for this kinda punishment? How does the clutch handle it? I hate fried clutches...
