Ever since I fitted my K&N filter RE0810, I've lost that VTEC surge from 6K RPM. Anyone know why? Same experiences? or am I dreaming?

I lost my surge too

I didn't fit a new filter though... Do you still feel VTEC at all? If not, you should check to make sure you didn't pull the wires on the MAP sensor.

Have you tried refitting the original filter and seeing if the surge returns?

I think the surge did come back?? BUT, Dropped it into the dealer this morning, needed 3 litres of oil!!! The cars done 3000kms and I had it serviced at 1000kms. Whats the deal? Is it burning oil?

It's very common. Keep checking the oil, like at avery gas fillup. Don't have to get alarmed unless consumption doesn't decrease. Many will use oil for a few thousand miles.

Yes, the surge did come back, however I have another theory. The reason why the VTEC seems to kick in harder with the stock filter is because it is less efficient. Hence, when VTEC comes in the difference is quite noticable.
