Default Noise coming from the right rear??

I have developed and clicking noise coming from my right rear wheel area with the rhythm of a rock in your tire tread only more metallic sounding. This noise is not constant and sometimes mild then progresses. Any ideas out there as to what this may be?
Thanks Guys!!

Make sure your wheel balancing weights are secure. If one came unglued on one side it could flap around with each tire rotation.

Default Noise

Please provide more details such as model, mileage, does the noise happen more when accelerating or slowing down, stopping, starting, turning right or left, low speed, high speed, etc. A recording may also help.

Just for fun, check for items around the spare tire. That area has been the sources of many a hard to pin down from the right rear.

If it only does it when you are first starting out or going from reverse to first it could be a loose axle nut. It doesn’t take much to make them click there is a tsb on having them retorqued to the proper spec.

Thanks Guys!!
Firstly, a very sincere thanks to everyone's prompt response in giving potential solutions to this issue. It is a true pleasure to have access to the knowledge and experience his group has not only for myself but for anyone searching for great answers!
To make a long story short, the centering ring somehow got switched from the front to the rear during a factory/aftermarket 'summer' wheel/tire swap. As most of you know the front rings are 79.5mm/70mm and the rear 79.5mm/64.1mm. As this seasons driving sessions became more frequent, three of my left rear lug nuts became extremely loose almost to the point of coming completely off! Luckily and with this forums help, I checked the lug nuts after seeking solutions from this forum! To continue, while re-torquing the lugs one of them broke off. Very lucking I didn't loose my left rear on a spirited drive!!
Thanks again for all the input!! Peace and enjoy the curves my friends!!
Ordered new rings, retainer clips for all four wheels and two new lug nuts. Had local tire shop replace broken stud.
