Default Is This Normal?

ok so i got my new 05 last friday, and from the beggining the transmission wasn't that smooth at all. like when u put it into first or to any gear it won't go into it smoothly. sometimes it does go into gear smoothly but most of the time it doesnt. i called the dealership and they said that it was normal while breaking in, but i'm still kind of paranoid, so can somebody tell me its normal or no??

it depends on the exact feeling. the gearbox is VERY notchy compared to any other car. if you can get it in gear and drive without grinding sounds, it's normal. you just have to get used to it and eventually enjoy it.

no, i mean grind when driving/pushing the gas. not when shifting. with all the info you've said so far, i think it's ok.

oh so like while the thing is in a gear and you push the gas pedal and hear a funny noise?? if it is like that, i don't have that but like its weird though. sometimes its sooo smooth like it just goes into the gear right away but sometimes it like 'wiggles'?? (i'm not sure if thats the best word for it, actually i'm sure its not) its way into gear. hopefully it will go away.

its normal. it takes some time to fully warm up. when you drive the car for an hour the gears will be very smooth. but in a cold start it will be hard to use the gears . so its very normal

Ask this at our next meet, I'll tell you all about why things are the way they are on this car. In the meantime, stop worrying. You have a brand new car to get used to. It can't be related to any other car you've owned. It WILL feel different from aspects to do with cars you've had before. Enjoy the car and just drive the thing. If you worry about this little shit (which are most likely normal), it'll ruin the whole experience. Is that what you want a new car to do to you?
