I havnt had a chance to look at any NO(g) kits yet but what are some of the potential problems that could arise or associated with it? Its not like Im gonna being using it EVERYDAY...Just thought that if im not racing the car everyday, nitrous would be the way to go and probably the cheapest way to go and from the messages here, a pretty safe way to go too.

Thanks for the info Mosinu,

But I read in the Venom Nitrous kit, that u can program the amount of nitrous that is injected (10 to 175hp) with three different modes of operation

1. Linear mode which adds nitrous as the throttle and RPM increase linearly.
2. Drag mode, which ads the amnt of nitrous you program at WOT at a specified RPM.
3. Timed mode, which you add a burst of nitrous for a specified amnt of time.

It also terminates automatically when the air fuel mixture becomes too lean. You also get a display which tells u all engine data..RPM, Injector Pulse Width, Throttle angle, exhaust status, operating mode, and system status.

With that said, Im thinking of just runnint the minumum 5% nitrous on linear mode....less nitrous, the easier on the engine, right? Anyways, with all the stuff that u were stressing...doesnt the Venom Kit deal with any of the problems that could arise? Or, am i missing somethng else?

Good luck on all your engine-rebuilds.

The Venom kit is a 'dry kit' which is bad. If you want to use nitrous, go with a direct port kit. It will cost more but it's safer and you will see more gains in performance. The Venom kit cannot ensure equal distribution to the cylinders, this is a very bad thing. It isn't just the amount of nitrous delivered that determines how 'bad' it is for your engine. If you go with a direct port kit you will have one fogger (fuel and nitrous) for each intake runner. This way you can ensure that each cylinder receives exactly the same amount of fuel and nitrous. You will be able to use less nitrous and get much better performance gains than with a dry kit. Example: A 60 shot with a direct port system will be faster (on the same car of course) than a 75 shot dry.

I used to live in Cary and I agree, Leith sucks.

For non-warranty service, I highly recommend Quality Plus Automotive Service, 3909 Commerce Park Drive, Suite B, in Raleigh, Phone: (919) 231-6164.

The owner, Randy Bunn, is a former "A" Tech from Leith who couldn't stand the hack service work they were providing there anymore and went off and started a Honda/Acura service business of his own.

Try Quality Plus -- you will not be disappointed!!!

Ok, so I dont really understand here. Why is the Venom Kit so much more expensive than the NOS Kit or Zex or whatever? Like I mean, I saw that u could get it for $1400 US and the NOS kit, u could get it for $750 Canadian...im not sure what that is in US but let me tell u, that its probably not a direct port kit then. So if u get the direct port kit, Im assuming that its going to be around the same amount as the Venom Kit. Or, are u saying that the its going to be even MORE money than the (already expensive) Venom package? I just wanna know why the Venom kit is so expensive if its not a direct port kit.

THanks.

The Venom kit is more expensive than your average 'dry kit' because of the 'computer' that runs it. If you go with a direct port kit it depends on how much nitrous you're planning on shooting. If you go with more than... say a 60 shot, you'll have some traction issues. You may even have them with a 60 shot. If you want to go with more than a 60 shot then you should seriously consider some type of progressive controller. My direct port set-up that I ran on my Prelude ran about $2,500-$3,000.00 but I had alot of 'bells and whistles' that aren't really needed.
