Default nose mask

Has anyone been able to find and/or purchase a nose make
for the s2000 - I would like one primarily for highway excursions
and to avoid the ole' paint chip repair routine. I don't like to keep them on the car for any extended duration, but would certainly like to have one for appropriate use.

Please reposnd with any feedback or recommendations you may have.

Thanks all.

You can purchase a new Colgan bra ("mask") from Top Notch Auto, one of our sponsors. They are great to deal with.

Here's a bit of history:
When the Colgan bra was first introcuced, many of us had problems with the area above the headlight lifting and flapping. The newest design, that has a vertical strap running across the headlight opening, is supposed to have solved this problem. If you have one of the "old" designs, call the company that you purchased it from to see if it can be exchanged.

Here's my "masked" car.

On Friday my new mask arrived. They decided that my old mask was too damaged to retrofit with the new modification. I haven't tried it yet but it looks promising.

One other change I noticed is that there is now a cut out for the fake side vents.

Will let you know how it works.

If you are interested call Top Notch. Rob has been very supportive concerning the nose mask.

Hey I heard that Bra's were a BIG NONO cause of the dirt and grime that gets caught underneth. It scratches the hell out of the paint. Is this true?

thanks,
Bobby

Bobby - Yes, that is true if you let the car get all dirty and grimey! I only use the bra for trips on the highway and driver's education days on the track. It does prevent paint chips and so far has not had any deleterious effects on my paint.

If you leave the bra on your car for a long time and crud gets underneath it then paint damage can happen.

I only use mine when I drive to work (trucks on the highway). I don't drive it in the rain (use the beater).

No scratches but I do have a couple of nicks from rocks before I put the mask on.

There are a lot of people on that think car bra's look like crap...I happen to be one of them. However, I hate the front end of my car being tore up even more. The only alternative is something like Stongard. I just don't trust that stuff not to damage the paint under it long term. So, I am stuck with the Colgan car bra.
