according to Bulletproof, the Amuse isn't loud..

Info:

Weight: 15lbs assembled! This offers approx 40lbs weight savings!

Power: Approx 4HP gain (this is about as good as it gets for any dual exhaust)

Construction: 100% titanium, similar to stock setup. Includes titanium pre-silencer, 90 degree capped tube to reduce mid range loudness, and dual R1 type titanium mufflers with the infamous burnt tip.

Sound: Quiet at idle, deep but still somewhat quiet at midrange. 6000-9000rpm it is very similar to the Amuse R1, F1 sound for your S2000. This exhaust is very livable for long drives, yet has more personality than a Mugen setup.

Recent Db measurements showed a 100 maximum Db rating for the Amuse Dual R1, compared to a 90 maximum Db rating for the stock exhaust. (testing was done back to back, at 3000rpm, 6000rpm, 9000rpm and WOT acceleration. Equal distances were used from the rear of each car and identical meter placement was used). The test did not use any industry standard distances, since we didnt know what measurements they were.

If one were to get a fix it ticket like that and had to get it inspected, and that person were to simply put in the silencers for the inspection, than would it pass?

Fight it! There's a good chance that the piglets won't even show up to testify against you. Even if they do, you can challenge them about the (lack of a ) dB test, or demand they prove their "testing equipment" has been properly calibrated. (I've heard stories of using this successfully to fight radar gun readings)

Oh, and if you have to... silencers should suffice during an inspection, as I recall a neighbor having done this to satisfy the swine years ago.

Sorry to hear about the ticket. There seems to be some kind of crack down on exhaust systems. Only imports though, the 87 Rustang with Flowmaster is A.O.K. My brother and my friend both got the same ticket in the past weeks. Something's up. Just in time for my Veilside exhaust to arrive!

Sorry to hear the cops are picking on you. Similar stories have been popping up on sportbike boards as well. Oddly enough it's again just the import bikes being picked on. The harleys can have the loudest exhausts on earth but since the pigs ride em, they don't give a shit. Unfortunantely for those of us that ride, if you look at the box the bike exhausts come in, they even have a warning that they are not for "street use". You may want to check the site for a similar warning. Good luck!
