I don't feel my vtec engaging. Is this normal for our cars? In my TL-S I could really feel the vtec kick in.

yeah, i've read about making sure the car is warmed up.
If i'm not feeling it is there something wrong? Maybe the vtec solenoid is bad?

How do you know if you have a problem?

You gotta stomp on it - slowly going up thru the gears won't do it.

i think vtec kicks in at 6K. I'm not positive so don't quote me on it. You should also have at least three bars on the temp guage. sometimes even with the temp guage at three it seema like my vtec isn't as strong untill i have warmed it up nice and good. but if you still have a problem, cuz you should be able to feel the vtec, there is most likely something wrong.

Yep you got to stomp on it. Use your lead foot.

yeah, make sure you're mashing the pedal down like harpoon said. if you don't, you wont feel it...i'm not sure if it doesn't engage or you just can't feel it, but it's definitely not noticeable w/o the pedal all the way down.

I had this happen today. I was crusin and above 6000 I wasn't feeling the vtec. So at the next stop light. I took it to 9000 rpms in 1st gear and the vtec came on. All was good afterwards.
