Not feeling any vtec kick
wikipedia on VTEC: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VTEC
You can actually hear the engine sound change when it switches to VTEC. In my car this seems to happen just a hair above 6000 RPM at WOT.

[QUOTE=Wisconsin S2k,Jan 24 2006, 12:05 PM] this is the kind of misinformation I'm referring to.
believe it or not, the ECU DOES use the TPS as one of the many sensors/determining factors as to when it engages the hi-cam profile. (God forbid slowS2k read this thread) in fact, it even uses vehicle speed sensors.

Way to go!!!!! You just shortened the life of your engine considerably!!!! They have great replacement engines on JDMcustoms.com. You should check it out.

there are those that argue this does not hurt the engine.
thinking that vtec isnt kicking in was and still an issue to me. I think ever since i installed my exhaust system (blitz TT) I felt less of a kick when engaging vtec. So, I test drove my friends stock S2K and noticed the vtec kick! Could it be from the modification(s)? Could this be from a lack of backpressure or inbalance of airflow? Would an CAI intake system along with headers balance out the overall airflow? Sorry for the generic terms. Im not a mechanic, but improper airflow seems logical to me... Thanks
