Care to elaborate your definition of F****** up? You mean the dealer or previous owner?

If your cooling system isn't properly bleed your car will overheat. One way to check is to make sure the car's HVAC system emits heat.

the s2k is a very reliable car, however, a car thats been abused wont hold up... period. Might be the start of more problems, again, not because the s2k is a bitch, but because it may have had a rough life

Yah. I would def. return the car and keep an eye out for another one. For a guy that drives so much everyday this S may not be worth it for you. Or, as long as you have that warranty everything should turn out good. Keep your head up, she's worth it in the end.

So the general manager of the dealership just called me. He said they found that the radiator cap was leaking causing the intermittent heat spikes. I might be able to pick up the car this afternoon (fingers crossed). The service manager then will explain to me in more detail the work they've so far done. General manager wants me to call him this weekend to give him feedback about the car. Hopefully all is well (fingers crossed-er).

It seems like they are trying to do right by you, so I'd sure give them the chance. Maybe this is the end of the problems.

Update: wasn't able to pick up car on Friday because of work. Picked it up yesterday around lunch. Service advisor gave me the receipts just to show whats been done. Filled my tank up and had shop foreman explain to me what had happened. Apparently the radiator is after market. It is a koyo radiator which he said was even better than factory (did research on his later on and quite a few agree it is because it is 3x thicker and made entirely of aluminum). Anyway, the problem was that the radiator cap on it was not enough to hold the pressure thus it was leaking pressure and causing the intermittent heat spikes. They said they found the correct one that would hold the pressure and replaced it. Test drove it twice and said no problems. As advised by some of the members here I asked if they did a compression test and they said yes everything was fine.

20 mins later I drive off and drove for about 40 miles to my house. Took a shower and left to pick up my wife. Took the car for another test drive just to be sure that everything really is ok. Temp remained consistent all throughout the trip. Probably drove 60miles yesterday. Then lasts night as we were driving home, temp gauge went up 3 bars then went down. I thought that was definitely not normal but after the temp went down it remained there. Got home no problem. This morning I went to work and I had my wife drive the s2 to have alarm installed. 30mins later she called saying the temp shot up to redline. Dealer is closed today. I am pissed. I did some research and on the koyo website it says that the radiator should ONLY be used with a high pressure one that they sell separately ($30). The one dealer used is a generic one probably from autozone. I don't know much about these things but in the radiator cap they used it says 13lbs and the word Mexico :shifty

Can someone shed some light to my demise? Is it possible that it could just be the wrong radiator cap? I will have the car towed (3rd time) tomorrow and will let the service advisor know about what i found online regarding the radiator. I also tried calling the GM but all i got was his voicemail. Left him a message to make sure he knows what has happened.

Any helpful thoughts or opinions would be greatly appreciated.
I thank all of you guys for your advices sincerely.

Edit: for those asking, bought the car a little over two weeks ago. Only driven it 3 times so far because after every drive it would have to be towed back to the dealer. No out of pocket money so far but of course I am frustrated and dealer is almost 40miles away.

That is horrible luck. Here is what I would do since you have that warranty. I would tell the dealer that I want to return the car unless they get the OEM radiator and cap from honda installed. I would say because all of this BS is wasting your time, and to you time is money. Just be upfront about it.

^ At least that's what I would do at this point of over 2 weeks of BS. Not worth it.
