S2000......GT3
2.0L.........4.0L
240hp......500hp
153tq.......336tq

Everything is almost exactly double. Cements the idea in my brain that a 6MT GT3 would be the perfect S2000 replacement. Where are those lotto tickets??

I've recently had similar thoughts. Its far beyond just the numbers too. The two cars seem to have similar personalities.

Today there are a lot of cars that are capable of producing some jaw dropping numbers. Yet they aren't drivers cars. The GT3 isn't the fastest, but its in the hunt. More importantly, its a serious drivers car.

Like the S, its also capable of non-winter dd duties (not arguing either isn't capable of winter dd, just wouldn't want to subject either to it).

Its near the top of my if I won the lottery list. The only thing that bothers me is I would want a topless fair weather dd.

That's why you keep the S2000!

The GT3 is a great idea and I suspect it will depreciate very little before prices start to rise, as manual transmission Porsches are getting to be a rare commodity.

Manual, lightest 911, no sound deadening, no A/C nor radio = 911R

Doesn't get anymore Analog and Pure than this. Too bad it's almost $200k lol

Looks like you haven't kept current on market prices. These are all over $400k on the used market

911R is cool but does essentially nothing that the half-price GT3 Touring can't do. It's just not worth the premium.

To be fair, the GT3 Touring wasn't a thing when the 911R was released. It's definitely something special.

I was hoping the 996 GT3 would stay in the 40's for another few years, but apparently it's not to be.

indeed. It’s not a driver’s car - it’s meant to be a collector’s car.

Yes it is the logical upgrade, if only the price was in line with the performance (compared to the s2k it should cost no more than 80k imo)

Yup, the GTS3 T was introduced based on the demand seen from the R, which is great. It also comes with AC and is more livable as a sports car versus just being a track car.

Still, there won't be enough made I suspect. Plus with the used market pricing, it's almost a wonder Porsche sports cars depreciate at all these days.
