Torque damper or engine damper?

I hear engine dampers reduce engine movement fairly well. Some even claim that their shifting has gotten smoother because of it. I think this is what you are referring to, I don't know what a torque damper is.

I have seen a couple installed, but I don't know how much our car needs it with only 148 lbs of torque.

The engine torque damper reduces engine flex and it will benefit better power transfer to the wheels. You will also notice better shifting as well (more direct shifting feel.)

its said to remove the vibration in the shift knob during driving also (if this rattles or just bothers you that it moves a little)

i just searched and read through a couple of threads and it seemed like there is mounting/fitment issue with the J's ETD. if you get the etd alone with out the J's stb the fitment is not great. however, if you get the J's stb and the etd together it will mount better, but might rub against an A/C line.

also, does anyone know if you need to drill through the stock heat shield for this to fit?
