Isnt there a revised one that doesnt need drilling?
you will only need to drill something if you're either bored or if you use the OEM heatshield since the ETD passes through it.

There hasn't been any revision that I am aware of. All J's ETD's require you to bend the AC lines a little bit, and remove the welded fuse box bracket. Drilling is only required if you want to drill a hole in your stock heat sheild to make way for the ETD to pass through.

There is a revision being made right now on the NRG ETD that will include a place to secure the fuse box onto the ETD bracket, like the J's. There are modifications required to make the ETD work and fit.

Drilling? Yes you need to drill a hole in your stock heat shield...or remove it for the dampner to fit...and you need to remove the welded fuse box bracket...so yes you need to drill (or remove the stock heat sheild) and then remove the stock fuse box bracket both NRG and J's.

No drilling for me. I just used the J's Heatshield. Only the small bracket that holds the fuse box must be removed. Pretty easy this one, I removed it with my hand moving it up-down and then just filed the edges to make them smooth.

Well its either drill the stock heat sheild for free...or buy a J's heat sheild for 60 bucks and have it not fit right...but hey at least you don't have to drill!

I like mine!! I don't drive real hard, but it does seem to smooth thing out. i.e. shifter vibration on the interstate. Plus it's one more shiny part under the hood.
