The EPS steering system on our cars is good in terms of speed and weight. But lets face it, the feedback leaves a LOT to be desired. After driving my miata around town, it can feel downright numb and uncommunicative.

I'm not sure if anyone else noticed this, but try holding both hands on the center part of the steering wheel while cruising down the street. Seems like there's actually a lot of feedback that's being "filtered" out by our multi-piece steering wheel. I'm wondering if an aftermarket steering wheel would help in this situation.

Has anyone tried this? Also does running larger aftermarket wheels and lower profile tires help in the steering feel?
