Is it nuts to get an S2k without a beater?

I daily drive mine, and wouldn't have it any other way. Why buy a car and not drive it?

I pretty much daily drive mine, but I do have a second car. My integra. I've run into situations sometimes when going shopping for big items. Like I needed to buy a desk, and I was at this store with my S2000 and knew that I could not purchase the desk right then because no way is it going to fit in my car. Came back to the store later that day with the integra and all was good.

The S makes a great daily driver. I drove it for a year (even in winter) and just bought a beater (see sig) this year as I did not want to subject the S to another harsh winter here, and also needed a 4 door for taking my son to daycare most days. If I was living in a warmer place and was single or married w/o kids, I would most definitely use it all year round.

My s is my only car. I love having it as a daily driver.

On my 2nd S as a dialy driver.. Guess I'm just a glutton for punishment
I have a couple of relatives in the area who are general contractors, and they are always willing to swap an F-350 or something for the day believe me.

re: moving large objects w/ an s2000...

i once strapped a queen size mattress to the top of a miata.. granted it had a hard top, but i think the principle is the same

the s is the girlie's daily driver. i get it on the weekends. and i don't live in SoCal (atm). it's just depends on how much a car decides your lifestyle, instead of the other way around...

There have been times when the S was my only car, but in no way do I want it as my only car.
I hate knowing I HAVE to drive the S because I have no choice. I want the car to be something I want to drive, not just my daily transportation. It's there if I want to drive it everyday, but if it's raining and I just washed my car, it's good to be able to jump in the beater and drive off.
As Fearless said above, awfully nice to leave it at home when the weather is bad... Here in KS we had thunderstorms, tornados and hail on Sunday, and snow on Monday...

Awesome!

Nope, I sold the DC5 already. I'm basically liquid right now and taking my time. The S2000 is on the top of my list. For the money, compared to the pocket rocket evo, sti and Z... the S is just raw. And I love that.

I'm a bachelor. Heck I even live on a studio here in SoCal. I'm just worried about the lil things.

I saw one situation where i was buying a chin spoiler(kit, wheels, something big) from a friend, picking it up from his place and have no place to put it. haha!
