O2 sensor

Default O2 sensor

SO..i took my car to a exhaust shop to have the O2 sensor Ext. installed and they striped out the sensor soo now i have no rear 02 sensor and dont have the money to go buy a 150 doller one soo.. yall got any ideas

You could try running a die over the 02 sensor, it may clean it up, you've got nothing to lose. I've run chasers through the bung itself and its done miracles on older vehicles, you may get lucky, but it may be hard to find the right die. As a last resort you may try some high temp epoxy/exhaust repair. Both ideas are iffy at best.

I also just thought of something else, Bosch makes a universal 02 sensor, its much cheaper then the direct fits, it is just a 02 sensor with a pigtail coming off it of 4(or 5) insulated wires, all you do is follow the instructions and splice on your plug, the directions that come with them are fantastic, and if I recall they are in the neighborhood of $50.

I did that. It's cheap and easy.

And I agree with the people saying recut the threads with a die as an alternative.

So why do they repair the work?

I mean, they were the ones who F'ed it up. Right?
