You're probably right, and I do worry about it. If I was taking up spots that others wanted I wouldn't do it. I only cut two spots at work where I park in the furthest corner of the lot, at least 50 feet and 8 spots away from the nearest car.

Still, I do worry about it. My collegues have told me that I'm inviting trouble and that its the best way to get keyed.

You are...at least according to some of the people I talk to. Some of my friends absolutely hate that to the point that they will go out of their way to spit on, slash, or key a car that is doing that. I personally don't see what the big deal is but there are people out there that have this as one of their worst pet peeves. One of my friends says it reflects an air of arrogance about the owner and that they will do anything to ruin his/her day. I still park in BFE when I go to a public place but I never take up two spots. I've seen some kids tip over a number of motorcycles for doing the same thing.

I am scared to back into spots since the dual exhaust is so low. [Don't flame me about my lack of skills. We are all human in here] This winter I bumped into some snow that had frozen around the edges of the lot. It was a hard jolt, but nothing was damaged. I almost freaked out. I can only imagine what a curb would do to the exhaust?!

well..on a certain old blue french race car, i do drain the engine oil after every run[maybe 20 minutes]and refill...and i drain the radiator and the gas tank when it's not being used...usually overnight...also before starting after a period of storage i pull the plugs and turn the engine over [ignition off] till it shows oil pressure....but this is mostly to protect the 70 odd year old roller crankshaft.....the s2000? hell, i just drive that...

Trying to park away from other drivers shows the herd mentality that seems to be hard-wired into the brains of at least some people. It doesn't matter if you park a half-mile away from other cars, many times somebody (it seems always to be a wreck) will park right next to you.

I havent read a thread on clossing the doors yet, but I'm sure I'll fit right in with what they say. I've got all my passengers trained that when shutting the door you push on the keyhole to avoid fingerprinting my Zaino'd exterior and if you even THINK about pushing on the window
