The previous owner replaced the top and the Honda place he had it done at did not replace it correctly. I have the same wear on mine now because the metal bar/cover was squished and it now has a sharp pointy edge that's poking at exactly the spot yours is wearing at. They also didn't do a very good job because when the top is up you can hear the rivets they drilled out rattling side to side on sharp turns or sweepers. I need to remove the plug and have it roll out.
