Default Odd thing happened today

So today i was stopped at a light and no one was around so i figured i would take off and go. i step on the clutch, rev up to around 5k, let off the clutch and my car goes to 15 mph and is already at the readline, shift to second still in redline, third same thing. it was the wierdest thing, tires didn't spin, it didn't even seem like i took off. of course right after there was a burning smell but the car is running fine so far. so does anyone know wtf happened?

Sounds like a slipping clutch, how many miles on your 05, and do you take off like that alot?

I would tend to think you roasted the hell out of the clutch, but I'm no expert

Yup, you COOKED IT! You let your clutch out too slowly. If you're going to rev it that high to take off, you must take your foot off the clutch almost faster than the spring can bring it up and you must begin with the clutch pedal on the floor. A slow engagement heats up the clutch excessively. The more it slips, the more it will continue to slip. Hopefully, if you don't do that for a while, it will recover.

Getting off the clutch quickly won't help you in AP2s ... I did the same thing on my car and decided to take out the clutch delay valve. No problems since then
