ps. If you remove the clutch delay and as a result, you launch the car and break something, don't bother trying to collect on the warranty.

How does it drive now? You might have slipped it and wore it a little but it might not be totally gone yet. If you take care of it for a little while you might not have to replace to quickly.

I've seen someone spin tires with an 04 no problem. I've also seen someone slip the clutch b/c of that stupid delay valve. It's a hit or miss with it, but chances are good if you keep dumping your clutch, the delay valve will help smoke your clutch sooner rather than later. I removed the delay off of mine as soon as I got it. I now have 15k miles and noticed my clutch slipping at the last track day. It's getting worse with agressive driving so I'm going to put an ACT pressure plate in it to hopefully fix the problem. Overall, the new clutches are too soft with or without the delay valve. Honda should have beefed up the pp just a bit.

It is still possible to get decent launches with an 04+ (delay valve intact) since the greater torque of the AP2 allows for a lower rpm. On my AP1 (with RA-1 r-compounds) I would have to rev to ~5.5k and bring the clutch up very quickly. This resulted in some brief tire spin and hopfully no bog as the tires hooked up. On the AP2, the engine only has to be reved up to ~4k before lifting up the clutch quickly. This results in some tire spin and perhaps a SLIGHT bog but the AP2 engine handles bogs better so you still get a decent launch.

It would probably be better if the delay valve was removed but I have not had time to switch it out yet.

I have an 05 and in 1st gear i can spin the hell outa the wheels no prob it always hooks up enough to peel out even on sticky 615RT's 255/40/17s in rear. And im turbo with extra tq.

the only time i slip is into 2nd or 3rd with a quick shift.

for a good burn out just rev to 4k-4.5k and let it out medium fast while ADDING power now holding power. as it hooks up keep pushing into the throttle more. It works like a charm Just drag race me some time and see.

still im gonna remove mine, im curious...instead of removing it can i just modify it to speed it up just a little rather then remove it completely?

Just remove it or replace the slave cyl with a smaller 03 unit - its only purpose is to slow the clutch pick up. Fwiw, you'll probably want a lighter flywheel and stronger diff to handle the power of a turbo and shock of clutch dumps.

Just remove the damn thing!

Clutch Delay Valve sounds threatening but it's just a 1/4 inch piece of plastic with a spring in it. C'mon seriously, this topic is asked at least twice a week.

You can put it back in later if you want but no unexperienced person is every going to be able to tell that it's gone.
