Default Odometer question.

Hi guys,

Which of the two, front or rear wheels measure the odometer reading? I have a pretty good feeling it's the rears....i mean that would make sense logically but i wanted to be sure. Thanks in advance.

It is measured at the output shaft of the transmission (06-07) and the secondary shaft of the transmission for 00-05.

I too would like to know this as i just changed the tire size on my rear tires and am curious if the spedo will be off. I am not sure how the output and secondary shafts come into play. Perhaps you could give us a little more info.

wouldn't that mean if the car was rolling in neutral the mileage won't go up? and it does.....unless i am confusing the output shaft for the tranny for something else...

The transmission is always connected to the wheels. Neutral only seperates the engine from the transmission.

Changing the tire size will change the Odometer reading, as well as the speed. There was a Class Action law suit that Honda lost on this very subject. I assume that was one factor in changing the 06-07 speed sensor pickup point to where it is now.

Stock, my car is reads 3%.
