Default Odometer Rollback

I just purchased a 2001 silverstone with 50,000 miles,
after running a carfax today, last odo reading was 80,000 miles.
Im in canada and PO imported it from florida wich he bought at auction.
He swears that they made a mistake at the auction and took the mileage reading when it was in Kilometer Mode and not Miles.
I want to know if its possible to rollback a S2000 odo or he's telling the truth.

This is the Carfax: http://www.carfax.com/viewEmailReport.do?a...Si3&language=EN

The odo now reads 50554 miles

yea that sounds about right cuz if you take 50k miles and multiply by 1.6 you get around 80k so that could be the truth

take your car to a honda dealership, i think they can tell how much miles are really in your car by scanning the ECU.

dont trust the odometer, i dont know if it can be rolled back, but he can defentily have bought a lower miles odometer on ebay or CL and swapped it out.

I thought digital read out memory is store elsewhere other than the cluster itself.

the recorded miles are left in the cluster itself. not in the ecu.

You can replace the cluster with one with lower mileage stored in it.
