Default OEM Alarm question...

Hey everyone, just have a few questions about the OEM alarm. I actually just bought it off a member here for a great price. You can check it out with the following link:

For sale thread...

He states that the OEM remotes would work for this but now that I think about it, isn't there a different remote for the OEM alarm(I think it had the "H" on the bottom)? Or I can still program my remote to work for the alarm? Also, where would I be able to get the OEM alarm remote if I do need it to work the alarm?

Thanks in advance.

Gabe

The keyless entry remote and the alarm remote are different. I have 4 remotes 2 original that just lock and unlock the doors (without turning the alarm off), and 2 that operate both the locks and the alarm. I've made the mistake of unlocking and opening the door with the original key remote and listening to the alarm go off. I don't have pictures, but the alarm remote has a panic button that the original didn't have.

You'll probably need help from the dealer to get it installed.

I could be wrong about the panic button, I'll look at the remotes when I get home.

I have the oem alarm on my 05 and i have only one key fob. It does have a panic button.

Youll probably need that special fob matched to your door/locks. If you talk to a dealer ask them if there is a setting for the signals and beeps when activating/deactivating the alarm. It beeps the horn loud twice and flashes the lights when i unlock/deactivate it. Its horribly annoying...its like "look at ME, I NEED ATTENTION ,this is me getting in my s2000."

Ok...So the alarm remote IS different from our factory keyless entry remote. Thats what I thought after thinking about it.
Redrum, are you still able to unlock the trunk with the alarm remote? Also, if you can confirm on the difference from the factory remote to the alarm remote. Thanks

And, does anybody know where I can get the OEM alarm remote besides the stealership?

You are able to unlock/lock the doors with either key fob, but don't try to start your car if you have the oem alarm, and you opened the door with the key fob that does not disarm the alarm.

It's hard to tell the difference between the two key fobs, but on my ap1, the alarm keyfob was a tad smaller and thinner..

I think they both have the panic button... But can you tell me if your remote has an "H" symbol underneath the panic button. Or is it exactly the same as mine...

Sorry about the poor quality. Its off my 1.3mp camera phone but you get the idea of how it looks.
