Default OEM Cover for Hardtop

This 03 I just purchased came with a Honda OEM cover for the hardtop. Do any of you have one of these? For the life of me I cannot figure out how it is supposed to go on to top. I also have a stand, which I will not use. I installed a hoist in my garage. I'd like to get the cover on the top and then hoist it up.

I have one. (it's for sale) Not sure I've ever put it on. I'm pretty sure it's designed to be used with the OEM hardtop stand and may not work as designed with other hardtop stands.

If you have a stand for the hardtop, the cover slips on like a glove, or a sock. I haven’t tried putting the cover on the top while it’s on the car or a sling. That would call for some fancy maneuvers.

There are 4 white patches on the inside. Where are they supposed to sit when you have it on the top?

Perhaps the thing to do is to remove the top and set it on the stand and then see if I can get the cover on. Once that is done I'll be able to tell if I can make it work with my hoist.

AZS2kDancer, here is a picture of the cover I have. Is this the same cover you have? Could you explain the process you follow to get the cover on? Do you first set the top on the stand, and then put the cover on? How does it go on?

I have one; but I have the PVC stand. Anyway I slide I mean work the cover over the back of the top first and then I lift one front corner and pull the cover over it then go around and do the other side. I haven't seen my car for some time but I recall that the patches on the inside of the cover fit over the hardtop spikes and latches to reinforce the cover against wear in those areas.
My guess is that you will need to remove the top from the car, place the top on the stand, cover it and then remove it from the stand and then hoist it up. And then that will depend on how the hoist attaches to the top.

rpg51, Yes, I have the same cover on a homemade PVC stand that came with my top when I bought it. It's been a while, yet I think that I put it on the stand first, then slipped the cover over it. I don't have my hoist set up yet, so the top stays on the stand, covered for now. I figured with our hot summer, I might be putting the top on for a few months, as it is almost to the point of getting too hot to drive top down. My idea for using the hoist would let me take the top off and put it on by myself. I'm not sure, either, how to get the cover on the top if the top is on the hoist.

Curious what kind of hoist you are using? Single guy here and I don't always have an extra body to help me put the hard top on.

I made my hoist using a "Harken Hoist." Google is your friend. You do have to customize it a bit. But, it works well.
