Does the OEM hardtop cover only cover the top of the hardtop, or does it envelop the whole thing like a large bag?

Also, is the cover hard to put on and take off with the hardtop sitting in a stand?

it only covers the top and sides - it is elasticated around the end, so it holds itself tight onto the hardtop. the "inside" is not covered.

Its easy to put the cover on with the top on the stand - just need to lift the points where it touches the stand at the bottom to tuck it under

 

Still I have used the OEM cover over the hardtop in the OEM stand and it does keep the entire hardtop reasonably dust free in my garage. It just wont keep the spiders out.
