IIRCC if the top is new it will have a fairly large gap until the seals flatten out due to weight. Give it a couple of weeks and you'll lose a .25-.5in (est).

I think both have their own merits

I am honestly giving thought to sell my OEM HT and buy an authentic Mugen when I'm on school break. It's weird because I've always favored the look of the OEM for as long as I can remember, but just recently debating on how the car would look better with a different top.

To me, the Mugen HT changes the car's personality to a slightly more aggressive and rough demeanor.

My S has the Mugen Rep hardtop and have had my car next to a S with the OEM top and i prefer the Mugen top over the OEM. Even the owner of the OEM said he thinks the Mugen has more a aggressive look and i like that better but its all about your personal preference.

BTW you know this thread is from 09?

I just traded my carbon mugen replica for a oem and i have to admit, i miss the look of the mugen. Definitely much more aggressive looking. One knock i had against it though was the fact that every time i opened my trunk, it would contact the HT and i was always concerned it would eventually cause some wear in that spot if i wasnt careful and slowly guided the trunk open.

I had the same problem at first with the trunk contacting the top so i just when to Home-Depot and got some rubber spacers and cut them to fit on the trunk bars. All good now
